Message from Paul William Essex

Al "took me under his wing," befriending me in 1987 as we attended Daedalian meetings and often sat together. What a warm and genial man. He was a pilot's pilot, a respected officer, a true gentleman, and a good friend. I pray that all those who loved him are comforted and that their fondest memories of Al will be foremost on their minds now and forever.
