Welcome to the memorial page for

Clyde Arthur Walden

February 25, 1920 ~ February 13, 2017 (age 96) 96 Years Old

When we've been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we'd first begun.

CLYDE ARTHUR WALDEN was called to his heavenly home on 2/13/17 to be reunited with his God and his loving wife. He was a man who answered God’s call many times in his 96 years. He married the love of his life in 1940, and for 73 years he loved and cared for her thru sickness and health.  He accepted the call to be the father of 3 daughters raising them in the love and admonition of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He served in the U. S. Army during WW II, going through training in Texas where he was commissioned a second lieutenant just before the end of the War.  Later he was called to the Public Ministry as a pastor, attending college in Seattle.  Thereafter he served churches in Deer Lodge, Hungry Horse, Cut Bank, Hamilton, MT and Seattle, WA.  He was blessed with many gifts, which he humbly used for God's kingdom.  Clyde loved teaching and mentoring men and women in their faith and service.  He was often called upon by others for his wise advice and counsel.  Although he was often task-oriented, he was quick to always put the individual ahead of the task.  At an early age he was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor that endeared him to so many.  He had a great capacity to love and to forgive.  He loved to worship the Lord in song and praise.  As a young man he played the trumpet in his high school band, in an ensemble in college, and earlier when he traveled with his family as an evangelistic team spreading the wonderful news of the Gospel through music and the powerful Word of God.  Throughout the years he loved to play his trumpet as he worshipped the Lord, and also in leading others in worship.  He is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara & Ron Wilson, Indio, CA, Judy & Bud Beverly, Hurst, TX, and Bonnie & Ron Friedly, Colbert, WA; 9 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.  He is highly respected and loved by all.  Clyde loved his family very much and was so proud of each and every one of them.  He had a strong spiritual discipline in which he would pray for all of his family every day. He will be greatly missed but we are grateful to our Heavenly Father for His faithfulness in fulfilling His promises in Dad's life.

“This life is not a problem to be solved, but a ministry to be demonstrated.(Hand written in Clyde's bible)

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11 AM at Hennessey Funeral Home, 1315 N Pines, Spokane Valley, WA.
