In the early hours on February 9th, 2017 a golden heart stopped beating. Our beloved wife, mother, mimi, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home.

Colleen (Mary Colleen Peoples Warren) was born February 20th, 1955 to William and Margaret Peoples in Butte, Montana. She graduated from Butte High School in 1973 where she gained her “bulldog” nickname. She never forgot her Butte roots and was always proud of her Irish heritage.

Colleen married Con Warren at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Butte in 1978. Their married life together began in Spokane, Washington. They were blessed to welcome their first son, Justin into the family in the spring of 1982. Their second son, Josh soon followed in 1984. Her family was her life blood. No one loved her boys like she did.

When the boys were young, Colleen pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Spokane Community College. After graduation, she began her nursing career at a medical clinic in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In 1988 she moved to a position in the Cardiac Intensive Care unit at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, a job she truly loved for 26 years. She developed many close relationships at the hospital that turned into lifelong friendships.

Colleen and Con made countless cherished memories vacationing with their family. Priest Lake was her absolute favorite place to share with family and friends. Many hours were spent boating, fishing, and floating on the water listening to her favorite tunes. Her door was always wide open, especially in times of celebration. She enjoyed taking pictures of her loved ones and scrapbooking all of the wonderful memories they made together.   

Compassionate and caring, Colleen’s generosity had no limits. She freely and willingly gave of her time, demonstrated daily by her constant committed care to her patients, the children at Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, women and children she met in Ghana, Africa, the children in her neighborhood, and of course, her much-loved grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There wasn’t anything that she would not (and did not) give to support the people in her life.

Colleen poured her heart out to her loved ones. She enriched the lives of those that were blessed enough to cross her path. She is survived by her husband Con of 38 years, two children, Justin (Jenni) and Josh (Heather), three grandchildren (Adalyn, Liam and Hattie), her brother, Bob Peoples, her sister, Peggy (Steve) McGowan of Butte, and many extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Peoples, brother Bill Peoples and special friend, Roxie Cramer.

There will be a memorial and celebration of life open to the public on Saturday, February 18th at 11am at St. Joseph Parish - Colbert, 3720 E. Colbert Rd. Colbert, WA 99005.
