Dorian Zane Miller

April 26, 1997 ~ February 18, 2017 (age 19) 19 Years Old

Dorian Zane Miller

April 26, 1997 – February 18, 2017

November 2015, just three months into his freshman year of college, our beautiful, caring and intelligent son Dorian started exhibiting signs of mental illness and was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.  Dorian's struggle to successfully manage this condition ended just 2 months prior to his 20th birthday.  To arrive at this destination, a bright light dimmed, which is a path that was unimaginable through the first 18 years of his life.

Dorian was incredibly smart, witty and full of life.  He started school at Cooper Elementary followed by Shiloh, Brentwood, Farwell, Mountainside Middle School and finally Mt. Spokane High School, where he did varsity track and cross country.  Dorian graduated Valedictorian in 2015 and received an academic scholarship to Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University.

He leaves behind two loving families:  his mother Tiffany Booth and Todd Becker, his father Carl Miller and Ellen Gillespie-Miller, sister Tia Gillespie (Dakota Johnson), brother Andrew Miller, grandparents Jim and Sue Miller, Cheryl Sparks, and Maynard and Carol Gillespie.  He also leaves behind Uncles Mike (Leanna) Miller, Nathan Booth, Jason Booth, and Andy (Amy) Gillespie along with nephew Colton Johnson, cousins Kasen and Madelyn Miller, Ben and Jack Gillespie, David Chaney Jr., Ryan Chaney, Nathan Jr. and Joseph Booth, Lila, Max and Jacob Selden as well many friends and extended family.

We are beyond devastated at losing such a special young man with a bright future.  All of us will miss the little things that made him our “D”:  endless hours of video games, constant burn of the data plan on his cell phone, plates of taquitos for all meals of the day, his mastery of rollerblading, and a million other little things. You touched so many hearts, brought so much joy and laughter into our lives.  You will be deeply missed our dear boy, and never forgotten.

Memorial services will be held at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N Division on Saturday, March 4th at 3PM.
