Dorothy Marie Stuart

Dorothy passed away peacefully the morning of March 23, 2024. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in August 1925. She was 98 years old.

Since moving to Spokane in 1968 she attended church at Ascension Lutheran Church (currently Prince of Peace Lutheran Church) and thoroughly enjoyed the lifelong friendships made and her years singing in the choir.

For over 60 years she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and was also a member of Sons of Norway.

She retired from Inland Power and Light after 10 years. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering for 16 years at the Spokane Visitors Center followed by volunteering at the Cancer Society Discovery Shop.

More than anything, mom loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays with them.

Mom is survived by her daughter, Diane (Don), son, Dean (Marina) and daughter, Dawn; grandchildren Brian, Eric (Kristen), Rachel and Leland (Hallee); and great-grandsons, Layne, Cruz and Beau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max, of 48 years (passed 2002), and most recently her son-in-law, Dan (passed 2023).

A funeral service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8441 N. Indian Trail Rd, on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 10AM with a reception to follow.
