COSTA, Duane (Age 83) Beloved father, grandfather and a nearly lifetime resident of Spokane, WA, passed away from natural causes November 28, 2017.  Duane was the son of immigrants Costante and Maria (Ecker) Costa from Clayton, WA. where he lived his first 18 years, graduating from Deer Park High School.   He started his career as an elevator operator at the Ridpath Hotel where he eventually became the General Manager.  He worked at the Hotel for over 40 years.  He later accepted a position at the Spokane Club working at the front desk of the Hotel until he retired at the age of 72.  He was a large supporter of the controversial Expo 74.  He was a member of the Kiwanians and Serra Clubs of Spokane.  He volunteered hundreds of hours delivering for Meals on Wheels and helping others.   Other than his love of the family, he always remained passionate about his Catholic faith, the hospitality business and helping those in need.  Duane is survived by his twin sister Teresa Inama of Spokane Valley, sons Donn Costa of Bothell, WA and Darren Costa of Seattle, WA along with 5 grandchildren.  A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Cathedral Our Lady of Lourdes 115 W Riverside  Spokane, WA.  Immediately following we will continue to celebrate his life at the Spokane Club followed by a burial service at Holy Cross Cemetery at 3:00pm.  The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels 1222 W 2nd Ave, Spokane, WA 99201. https://www.mowspokane.org/donate-now
