Carlson, Edward J – age 73 – went to be with the Lord May 25, 2017 after a courageous battle with leukemia.  He was born to John and Mary Carlson in 1943. He graduated from Mead High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years, then hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring after 33 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister.  He is survived by his wife Dawn, a brother Wayne, children, Ann (Todd) Gilligan, Aimee (Casey) Murphy, Steven (Jaunna) Carlson; grandchildren, Greg (Rachel) Gilligan, Ryan Gilligan, Emily Murphy, Riley Murphy, Meagan Carlson, Cloe Carlson, and Josh Carlson; great-grandchildren Gage and Grace Gilligan.  Celebration of Life at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home 1315 N Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA at 2 P.M. Friday June 2, 2017.  Graveside services will be held in Waterloo, MT, Saturday, June 3, 2pm. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to your favorite animal shelter.
