MILES, Elizabeth Pearl, age 87, Loon Lake, WA died Monday September 25, 2017 at Alderwood Manor in Spokane.  Betty was born September 16, 1930 in Spokane, WA.  She attended Lewis and Clark High School and continued her education and received a degree in Physical Education from Eastern Washington College of Education in the early 1950’s.  Betty went on to teach at Bemis Junior High School in Spokane.  Later, she moved to California and served for over 30 years at Ben Franklin Junior High in Daley City.  Betty greatly loved sports and was an avid follower of each sport in its season.  She also enjoyed travel, which she was able to enjoy once she retired from teaching.  She is survived by her sister Eleanor Ann (Alva) Windler, a brother-in-law Conrad Hendricks and several nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly.  She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Carl Miles, mother Helen Alice Miles, brother Thomas Carl Miles, Jr., and sister Helen Pat Hendricks.  A Memorial Service will be held to honor her life at 1 P.M. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church 5810 S Meadowlane Rd, Spokane, WA 99224.  Her nephew, John Windler, a missionary to Paraguay, will officiate.  Interment preceded at Riverside Memorial Park.
