Evelyn Marie Kidder
September 8, 1938 – October 26, 2017
Evelyn Marie Kidder Ellis died peacefully on October 26, 2017 at Royal Park Nursing Home in Spokane, Washington. She was 79 years young. Evelyn is survived by her two daughters Brenda D. Kross, Kimberly L. Wason and son Daniel B. Hoss. She is also survived with thirteen wonderful grandchildren – Curtis, Tiffany, Amanda, Michael, Angie, Rick, Missy, Mickey, Ashleye, Johnny, Stephanie, David, Andrew and ten beautiful great grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her son Douglas Hoss and her daughter Debbie Reynolds.
Evelyn was born on September 8, 1938 in Portland, Oregon to Lilian and Benny Ellis. Evelyn grew up in the Portland area and married her teenage boyfriend Eugene Hoss in 1955. They had three children Doug, Debbie and Dan. She would later in life marry John Sharpe and have two daughters Brenda and Kimberly. In the early 1970s she would relocate to the Kennewick, Washington area and later move to Spokane, Washington to pursue her lifelong dream of that house with a large deck overlooking a small river. She would spend many hours with her friends talking about the good life. Evelyn would pursue her education goals by graduating from Spokane Falls College and later work for the college. She retired from the Convention Center / Doubletree Hotel. She would move from her house in Riverside, Washington after retirement to the Vintage Apartments in Spokane. After her illness she went to live at the Royal Park Nursing Home until her passing, with a special thanks and gratitude to all the staff.
Evelyn was a strong and independent woman, full of grace, and loved those she was surrounded by. She was a friend of Bill W for thirty one years, helping many people along the way find the happy and joyous life of sobriety. She will be deeply missed and will forever be in our hearts and memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the
Chattaroy Community Church
at 3711 E. Chattaroy Road, Chattaroy, Washington 99003
from 1-3pm.
