Prosser, Glen Raymond (age 69)

Glen Prosser was born to Ralph and Beatrice (Pellanda) Prosser on March 26, 1948 in Spokane, Washington, and passed away on November 13, 2017 in Coulee City, Washington while installing a playground. He was a man of faith, honor and integrity and was dearly loved by many. Glen grew up in Havre, Montana, but then moved back to Spokane when his dad left a job with the railroad. He attended Gonzaga Prep (Class of ’66) and Eastern Washington University, where he received a degree in Accounting. He worked for S&F Construction Company in their accounting department. When his boss died, Glen moved on to start his own company, Prosser and Sons. He started out as a general contractor, not having a clue how to do very much. He used to come home and say he got a job doing something but had to go to the library for a video or book on how to do it (before the internet). He made mistakes but through hard work and a stick-to-it mentality, he had many great accomplishments. He installed playgrounds for many years and could point to his work in almost every park and school playground in Spokane and in other parts of the Northwest. Glen also installed all the memorial benches along High Drive, as well as some on the Centennial Trail, and at River Front Park, so people could sit and enjoy the view. Glen took on almost any task and was usually able to accomplish it. A favorite phrase of Glen’s was “Don’t I know you from somewhere?” and he usually did. If he brought up enough possibilities, he could usually find common ground with anyone. Our sons used to tease him that if you put a hard hat on a fire hydrant, Dad would stand there to talk with it. He loved to visit with people. Glen is survived by his wife of 48 years, Michele and three sons, Jason, Simon (Shelly) and Justin (Cristin). He loved his grandchildren: Belle, Baine, Phyllis, Mitchell, Grace and Hadley. He is also survived by nine brothers and sisters: Ralph, Audrey, Marlene, John, Nancy, Mary, Sharon, Sandy and Pat. He had a special place in his heart for his brother-in-law, Larry. They laughed and teased so much. A Rosary will be said on Friday, November 24 at 7:00pm in the Gonzaga Prep Chapel of the Three Companions. A funeral Mass will be said on Saturday, November 25th at 2:00 pm at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Gonzaga Prep, 1224 E Euclid, Spokane, WA  99207. May you rest in peace, my sweet baboo.
