John was a great nonno. I wish I could have spent more time with him. His soul and memories will be cherished from generation to generation as he was a true inspiration to all, christian or not. When I'm not feeling brave or I'm fearful of whats to come, I remember him and feel joy once more. I remember my father would take me over to their house and we would play with missy. He loved his family and we loved him. He inspires me to take pride in my Italian heritage. I know he is up in heaven somewhere, dancing with nonna under the stars and smiling down on ALL of us.

I will miss my dear friend and coworker, Deacon John Sicilia, with all of my heart. He cared so much for everyone, and did so much for all of us here at Hennessey Funeral Home. He was a true friend and can never be replaced. I know he has joined his dear wife, Vikki, with a big smile. Rest in Peace dear friend. Life will not be the same without you here.

Johnny remember when we stold my dad's car. You told me don't do it and I said what could happen? Yup I got caught. Remember when I helped you at the Hedge House with your charity dinner. You cooked brachol you were so nervous I said what could happen we looked at each other and almost were our pants yup we were so busy we could hardly keep up. No matter if we saw each other everyday or every 10 years the love we had for each other never failed. I'm going to miss not knowing that you are there. Now I'm the worried about what could happen.
Friends forever

As we were driving in the procession through the red lights, my Husband Jeremy said, "I knew your Uncle Johnny would someday make me break the law." We will miss your warmth, sincerity and sense of humor Uncle Johnny. You were always there for my Father and Uncles, and that will be cherished in your memory.

I can't tell you how sad I am at Deacon John's passing. I was blessed to work with him as a volunteer at St. Charles Parish. His work ethic was truly phenomenal . There would be days that I would see him at 3 or 4 different places! I have never felt more a sense of community within the church as when Deacon John was there. I will truly miss his presence in this life. Blessings to all his family.

Dear Johnny,

I will always recall fondly the years of our youth. The many hours we would spend playing school and mass. You always insisted on being the priest..LOL. I was honored by being in your wedding to Vicki. Over the years of our adult lives I saw you far to infrequently. But when I did the feelings of love and kinship came flowing back as if it was only yesterday we were young. What a full life you lived. There is no doubt of your presence in paradise this very day. I am confident as can be that you REST IN PEACE.

This man was the best Father ,Grandparent, Uncle, God Father, Cousin and Friend that anyone knew. He was listener to anyone that shared to talk to him. Family was everything to him. The Lord took away a real beloved person because he knew that he did his job on earth. Now he is with our Aunt, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa , sisters and brothers and cousins and friends that he hasn't seen for awhile. They greeted him with arms wide open at the gate of Heaven. Uncle John. We will miss you. See you again one of these days, until then Love you and REST IN PEACE.

I have known Deacon John for a little over two years but he made a big impact on my life as I lost my husband about 2 1/2 years ago. He was so comforting to talk to and loved his sense of humor and his spaghetti dinners. He was truly missed this last Sunday on the altar but know God had open arms to welcome him home. I feel very fortunate that he was in my life even for a short period of time and will carry his love with me always. My prayers and thoughts go out to all his family. He spoke of his family with such love.

It was a great pleasure knowing and working with John these past few years at Hennessey's. We shared the same birthday, and he always gave me his piece of cake, as if I needed it. He was a wonderful friend and will be greatly missed. What a Christ-like example he was. John has earned his place in heaven.
