Martha Tomson, a long-time resident of Spokane, Washington died Monday the 12th of February at Holy Family Hospital. Martha was born on October 22, 1926 in Dickinson, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Barbara Mehulky.  She was the oldest of six siblings, and is survived by one brother. Martha married Charles “Chuck” Tomson on June 19, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and together they had six children, Charlotte, Greg, Duane, David, Teresa and Jackie.  For a time, Martha worked at Farm Credit Bank in Spokane.  Chuck and Martha took care of Jackie, and after Chuck’s death several years ago, Martha cared for Jackie at her home.  Martha brought laughter and joy to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but her greatest gift was her lifelong dedication to Jackie.  Her love and compassion for Jackie will be remembered by all who knew Martha. Martha is survived by five children, 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.  Her rosary will be held on Friday, February 23 at 6 pm at Hennessey Funeral Home at 2203 N. Division St, with visitation beginning at 3 pm.  Her funeral mass will occur on Saturday, February 24 at 11:00 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 1503 W. Dean Avenue, following by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.  There will be a reception following the Interment at Wandermere Golf Course , 13700 N Division St.
Spokane.
