Merrell Delbert Wickham at age 75 of Spokane Valley, WA passed away in his sleep on 12/18/16.
Merrell was born on 11/16/1941 to Merrell and Huldha Wickham in Spokane, WA. He was the oldest of 7 children. He grew up in the Elk area and attended Riverside High School. Merrrll's father was able to get a job at Kaiser Aluminum as a young man. He worked there for many years with his father, 2 brothers and brother-in-law. This was where he met Patricia Woodward and later married her on 6/11/1975, bringing along with him 5 children from his first marriage. Together they raised the 5 kids and later had 2 of their own. While working hard for his family Merrell's true passion was his music. He loved to sing and had a band of his own. "Merrell and the Mustangs" where together off and on for years playing all over town including in his daughter's weddings. His biggest dream, that was accomplished, was him being able to travel to Nashville and record his music. After retiring from Kaiser Aluminum he went on to enjoy his retirement by buying his own dairy farm. Once he decided to hang up his bibs he went on to work for Good Rich and later retired from there as well. Once Merrell was retired he went back to his love of music and began his own Karaoke business. He sang almost every weekend at a local bar while his daughter bar tended and one of his sons helped him run the machines. When he wasn't singing Merrell loved to spend time with his grandkids and great grandkids. He also loved to go camping and riding his 4 wheeler with family and friends.
Merrell is survived by his wife Patricia Wickham, and their 7 children. David (Michelle Perron) Wickham, Kelly (Troy) Stratton , Patty (Adam Fallis) Belote, Barbie (Brian) Mitchell, John (Annie) Wickham, Jim (Natalie) Wickham, Mer (Melissa) Wickham, 22 grandkids and 15 great grandkids. He is also survived by 5 of his siblings Claraence Wickham, Sherry Ryan, Russell Wickham, Melvinea Stevens, Rosemary Forbes and many nieces and nephews.
Merrell was preceded in death by his father Merrell Wickham, his mother Huldah Wickham, and his brother Gary Wickham.
