Nickey Duane McKenny (Nick)

Nick passed away on September 7, 2017 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer at Hospice North.  He was born in Bozeman Mt on September 19, 1948 to Douglas H. and Olivene (Mickey) McKenney.  He  is survived by his brother Terry (Cheryle), niece Tracy (Martin) and nephew Tim.  In 1962 he moved to Spokane with his mother, step father Alonzo (Al) O'Brien and brother. After graduating from John R Rogers High School in 1967, Nick joined the Navy in 1968. He was stationed aboard the US Perry in Honolulu and  he served in the Pacific and Vietnam. Nick received degrees from Spokane Falls Community College and then Eastern Washington University and lived a quiet life with his many close friends.  Donations may be made  to Hospice House North that cared for and comforted Nick through his last days on this earth. Memorial Service with Military Honors will be be held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery on Friday September 22, 2017 at 10:30 AM located at 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA 99022.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hennessey Funeral Home and Crematory 2003 N. Division, Spokane, WA 99207.
