Richard Leon Waite was born October 6, 1928 in Renton, WA. He proudly served his country for 22 years. He began his career in the Navy where he enrolled in the U.S. Naval School of Justice and worked for the Judge Advocate General’s Office. He transferred to the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at France, Thailand, Larson AFB, Fairchild AFB, and served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.   After retiring from the military, Richard was employed as Vice President of Administrative Services for the Old National Bank. He taught at the Trend Business University and later worked part-time as an accountant in his son’s dental practice.  Richard earned an Associate Degree from Big Bend Community College and a Bachelor’s of Arts from Whitworth College. He was an avid Seahawks and Gonzaga Bulldogs’ fan. He enjoyed yardwork and being with his family most of all.   Richard is remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Beverly Eseke Waite; his devoted son Steven Waite; daughters, Cheryl Doetch and Valerie Waite; son Kevin Waite; and granddaughters Chelsie, Alisyn, Taryn, and Britni;  grandsons Ryan and Shaun; and great-grandson Mordecai.    A Rosary will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 6PM at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N Division.  A Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, June 6th at noon at Assumption Catholic Church, 3624 W Indian Trail Rd. Graveside services will military honors will follow at 2PM in the Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley.
