Robert Milo Harnden “Bob”, 78, of Spokane, passed away peacefully at home June 30, 2017.  

He was born to Carl and Myrle (Sheldon) Harnden, December 26, 1938, in Wenatchee, WA. Bob graduated from Cashmere High School in 1957. Bob served in the army, 1958-1962, where he met his first wife, while serving in Germany his twins Wendy and Cindy were born; after returning to the states he settled in Seattle where Rick, Ann, and Billy were born. After many years in Seattle Bob relocated to Spokane where he remarried, July 3, 1976, to Betty Lou Swoboda, they created their own version of the Brady Bunch with their combined 6 kids.

One of Bob’s proudest achievements were when he and Betty purchased Papermill Printing in 1985; with hard worked they were able to open a second shop, eventually they retired and

sold the shop in 2005. Bob loved to fish, golf, and hot weather.  After Bob retired he and Betty purchased a home in Arizona so they could escape those freezing Spokane winters.

Bob is survived by his brothers Ron (Sharon) Harnden and Daryl (Lorna) Harnden; sisters in-law Ruth Winckler and Alice Neumann; brother in-lawIsadore Krein; children: Kay (Tom) Grote, Wendy Harnden, Cindy (Ray) Craigen-Phelps, Kurt Krauth, and Rick Harnden, grandchildren: Craig Grote, Dennice (Chris) Bryant, Cory Grote, Jonathan (Katie) Craigen, Isaac Craigen, Jackie Phelps, Amber (Kevin) Zent, Chris Zent, Kaylee Phelps, Chris Phelps, Kaileene Krauth, Josh Olsen, Korel Krauth, and Samantha Olsen; and great-grandchildren: Brittanie, Jenna, Preston, Parker, Paige, Sydney, Addelyn, Bailey, Kaimana, Zoey, Jonathan Jr., and Lea.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, daughter Ann (Craig) Olsen; son Billy Harnden, his brother Dick (Pat) Harnden, and many brothers and sisters in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Spokane or New Creation Fellowship in Bob’s memory.  Memorial service will be held Saturday July 22, 2017, at 11:30 a.m., at New Creation Fellowship, 1515 E. Farwell Road, Spokane, WA 99208.
