Robert Wayne Johnston, 71, of Nine Mile Falls, WA, passed away August 26, 2017.  “Bob” was born  to Robert L. Johnston and Marjorie H. Johnston on January 8, 1946, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  He moved to Spokane from Kennewick in 1987 and eventually moved again to Nine Mile Falls, WA in 2005.  He worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad for over 30 years.  In his spare time, he enjoyed cultivating his garden which consisted of a myriad variety of Hostas, other plants , flowers and roses.  He was also quite an accomplished stained glass artisan, making numerous stained glass windows and lamps throughout his life.  You could always tell which gifts were from him at Christmas because they were always the best wrapped.  He possesed a quick wit and self depreciating humor.  He loved his children and grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife Teresa Johnston, his childdren Shelly Kephart and Shane (Cheary) Johnston.  His step children Tanya (Scott) Holmes and Stewart Southwell, his siblings Dan Lee (Sherri) Johnston and Linda D. (Dan) Bare and 8 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents Robert L. Johnston and Marjorie H. Johnston and his “Twins” troy Wayne Johnston and Todd Allen Johnston.

Graveside services will be held at Riverview Heights Cemetery in Kennewick,  on Saturday September 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM.
