Wilson Steele Shepherd was born on 21 Apr 1992 in Pittsburgh, PA, and died on 12 Sep 2017 in Spokane, WA. He is survived by his parents, Jeff Dunn and Jamie Shepherd, and by his brother Beck Shepherd, all of Spokane. Wilson graduated from Deer Park High School in 2011. Wilson loved being outside, and he loved nature. He loved going for walks in the woods to see what he could find--mushrooms, interesting rocks, skinks. He loved fishing and camping. He loved returning to familiar places each year; it helped ground him--Curlew State Park, the Mardon Resort, the Lochsa Lodge, No Name Lake. Each held a special place in his life. He also kept aquarium fish, which he tended lovingly. He loved his pets deeply. He loved his family intensely. He struggled for many years with both mental and physical health issues, and fought as best he could, every day, to feel better and be the best person he could be. His spirit burned with the intensity of a meteorite. Now that meteorite has left us and moved on to explore new worlds.
