Tribute

Amy Hays passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from natural causes the evening of November 12, 2018.  She was born in Dodge, North Dakota December 11, 1942. Amy was a woman that had tremendous influence with many people, she enjoyed a close bond with her family and her many friends.  Kind hearted, generous and faithful to all that knew her.  Recently referred to as spunky, her ability to reach the hearts of all around her with a smile and a welcoming glint in her eyes, she was dearly loved.  Amy was the glue that held the family together and she loved to entertain and her home became a focal point with family and friends, everyone felt her presence.  Amy led a very active life enjoying golf and tennis with her many friends and always looked forward to the next Red Hat event.  She was a graduate of Marycliff High School.  She never understood the reach of her influence nor would she accept the praise that she so richly deserved.  She faced her challenges and setbacks silently but always showed her love to family and friends openly.  In death, she is preceded by her husband Dr. Fred Hays MD and her beautiful daughter, Marie Hays.  Her immediate family includes her brother Leo Schumacher and his wife Patty from Spokane, her sister Agnes Miller from Spokane, her sister Angie Fosburgh and her husband Bob from Spokane, her brother David Schumacher and his wife Penny from Redmond and her brother Eugene Schumacher and his partner Betty Ann Klaus from Spokane.  Jim Wandler was the love of her life and they enjoyed a bond that was truly remarkable.  Jim became an integral part of the family and gave Amy his full love and security.  Visitation will be held at Hennessy Funeral Home, located at 2203 North Division, on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until 12:00.  Amy’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 1st at St. Francis of Assisi, 1104 W.
