Andrew (Scott) Joseph Boyle of Spokane, WA passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022.

Andy was born on April 29, 1933, in Pennsylvania to Michael and Nora Boyle. He was the oldest of 7 children raised in Wayne; he graduated from St. Katherine of Siena School. He was highly active in sports, particularly basketball. After graduation, Andy joined the United States Coast Guard where he served in the Korean conflict. While stationed in Kauai, Hawaii, Andy met Mary Ellen Diggory, whom he married on May 29, 1953, with who he shared four children.

Andy enjoyed a long career with Travelers insurance until he retired in the early 1990’s.  During his time at Traveler’s, he met and married his beloved Lillian.  They enjoyed over forty years together, gardening, fishing, traveling, family vacations and long conversations.  Both shared a love of debate and reading.

Andy shared his value of education and faith with his children as he made sure they all attended Catholic schools.  During this time, he volunteered as the boys’ basketball coach, sharing his love of the game with the students.

Andy is survived by his wife, Lillian, his four children Tara (m. John Ryan), Erin (m. Tom Dorsey), Brendan (m. Tricia Boyle), Kathleen, and his stepson Steven.  He is also survived by his many grandchildren and one great grandchild.
