BUCKLEY, Barbara Jean was born on September 2, 1924 in Spokane WA to Edwin (Jerry) and Louise Lundberg, the first of three children.  Barbara attended high school at Holy Names Academy, graduating in 1942.  After high school she worked at the Fox Theatre and waited for her high school sweetheart, Jeremiah (Jerry) Buckley to return to her from active duty in the Navy, in the Pacific, in World War II.  They were married in September 1945.  Barbara spent the next thirty years managing her growing household;  during these years she was also an active member of the Auxiliary to St. Anne’s Home for Infants, the Ballet Society and the Spokane Club’s Women’s Activity Committee.  When her fifth and last child was in junior high in 1978, Barbara opened her own business, Barbara’s Interiors.  She operated first out of a one-bedroom home across the street from Lincoln Heights shopping center for fifteen years, and then out of a triplex she and Jerry purchased across the street from Manito shopping center for ten years.  Barbara collected and sold antiques and art, specialized in the repair and refinishing of complex antique wicker and other types of furniture, her station wagon license plate read “Wicker” and often had a piece of wicker sticking out of the back, and she consulted to countless Spokane families regarding their interior design needs.  After retiring, Barbara and Jerry travelled extensively throughout Europe and Asia with their good friends Chuck and Bobbie Hennessey.  They also enjoyed having their children and grandchildren come visit, especially in the hot Spokane summers and during holidays.  Barbara passed on Monday morning, November 27, 2017 at Clare Bridge House supported by her loving nurses Violet Gamba and Ruth and loving caregiver Alycia Everett from Home Instead.  Special thanks to Brookdale Senior Living and Barbara’s primary care physician Dr. Sanjit Dutta, MD for their professional and compassionate care.  Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, daughter Valerie and brothers Jack and Jim Lundberg.  She is survived by her children Michael, Olivia, Molly and Linda, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  A Rosary will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Hennessey Funeral Home, located at 2203 North Division, Spokane, WA  99207.  A celebration of life Mass will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 9:00 AM at St. Aloysius Church located at 1107 North Astor, Spokane, WA  99202 on Gonzaga University’s campus.  Reception to follow.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of the Holy Names:  http://www.snjmusontario.org/stand-with-us/donate
