Betty L Vingo (Sabin), age 94 passed away on May 15, 2018 in Spokane, WA. The only child of Clara (Webster) and Russell Sabin of Spokane WA. She attended Lewis & Clark High School. After marrying Louis M. Vingo she worked as a long distance phone operator for the Bell Phone Co. After becoming a mother Betty was a homemaker until 1972 when she began working for the Spokesman Review as a rural paper deliverer. Louie’s first career was in the US Air Force so travel and adventure was a normal part of family life. The family lived in parts of Washington, Texas, Nevada, France & California. Throughout her lifetime, many animals came to make their forever homes with us. One dog she loved dearly and who was always close to her was Midge. Midge came from a litter of research dogs from Dr. Yakely, who studied blindness in Cocker Spaniels. Cats were her other love. She began playing bridge with friends and family, which turned into an obsession. She played in many bridge clubs and played in tournaments for many years. A favorite pastime was reading the daily bridge games in the newspaper. (But watch out Betty didn’t like to lose!). Betty was preceded in death by her husband Louis M. Vingo, parents Russell and Clara Sabin and her uncle and aunt Kenneth and Nora Webster. She is survived by: her children: Carmella (Ron) Goodell, Michael (Laura) Vingo and Lorraine Vingo. Betty also leaves behind her: grandchildren, Joey, Scott (Nichelle), Carley (Scott), Steven (Brandi), and Autumn (fiancée Ryan), and great-grandchildren, Jolene, Greg, Nathan, Emily and Addison to cherish her loving memory. Services will be at 11:00 am, on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Hennessey Funeral Home & Crematory, 2203 N. Division St, Spokane, WA 99207.
