Brenda Marie Olsen, 80, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2021 in Spokane, WA after a long illness. She was a loving mom, Nana, aunt and great-aunt.
Brenda was born May 12, 1940 in Jamestown, NY and was the youngest child of Christian Laverne and Martha Olsen. In 1949, she traveled across country with her parents moving to Santa Clara, CA. She attended school in Santa Clara and graduated from Santa Clara High School in 1958 excelling in home economics. After graduation, she attended a vocational business school. Brenda worked several jobs over the years. In 1975, Brenda began working for the West Valley Mission College School District as a Xerox and press operator and retired after 24 years. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Spokane, WA. She loved living in a city with a small town feel and the pine trees and mountains around her.
Brenda was a very talented seamstress, cook, photographer, and painter and loved doingcrafts of any kind, There was nothing she could not sew. She loved to go camping and travel when she could.
Brenda is preceded in death by her father, mother and her brothers, Ole Olsen and Walter Olsen.
Brenda is survived by her daughter Karen Bond (David); grandchildren Kaitlyn Bond (Tyler Shellenberger) and Scott Bond; great-granddaughter, Stella Bond-Shellenberger; sister-in-law, Mary Olsen and several nephews and nieces.
Cremation has already taken place. A memorial will be held at a later date with internment in Townsend, MT to be close to family.
