Carol Lee Samse

Carol Lee Shiflett, age 84, passed away peacefully June 4th, 2023 due to diabetes and advanced dementia. She was born August 21st, 1938 in Wenatchee, Washington to Joel and Helena Shiflett. She met Roger Samse and they were married on October 4th,1957.  Roger preceded her in death in June, 2011.
 
They started their adventure in married life in Japan at Tachikawa AFB where they had their first daughter Leslie. Then they were off to Glasgow, Montana for four years where they had their second daughter Diana. Off again to Fairchild AFB in Washington for 2 years then moved to the Spokane Valley, where they bought their first house. They moved to the Philippines for 2 years, then back to California for two years; finally to the Spokane Valley where dad retired from the military. They moved to Okanogan, Wa. when Carol retired. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Okanogan.
 
She is survived by her brothers Richard Shiflett and wife Wil'Lena, Danny Shiflett and wife Elaine and Nathan Shiflett and wife Sandy. Grandchildren Brandon Soss, Melissa Soss and husband Kenneth, Emily de Rham, Christopher Dvorak and wife Jessica Carlo, Jennifer Christian, Jessica Rosecrans and husband Sam.  Plus 8 great grands and many nieces and nephews that meant the world to her.
