Chad Michael Bangs

July 16, 1973 ~ June 21, 2018 (age 44) 44 Years Old

Tribute

Gone but not forgotten. The world lost a very special person on June 21, 2018. Chad Michael Bangs, 44, of Spokane, was taken from us in a tragic motorcycle accident in Idaho. Chad was born in Wenatchee, WA July 16, 1973. He graduated from Mead H.S. in Spokane in 1991 and enlisted in the US Coast Guard soon after. He served for 3 years in Sandy Hook, NJ. Chad married twice, 1st to his H.S. sweetheart Jennifer Porter and 2nd to Lia Alevetsovtis with whom he had a son. At the time of his death he was a locomotive engineer at BNSF Railroad, and a 5th generation railroader in the Bangs family. Chad's passion was riding his beloved Harley. He felt truly at peace when the weather allowed him to ride and will be greatly missed by his "Irish Kings" biker family. He worked hard, played harder, and loved his life. Chad may have looked tough on the outside, but inside he was just a big teddy bear. He touched the lives of everyone he met and even though he’s no longer with us, he will always be in our hearts. He leaves behind his parents, step-parents, his son, 3 half-siblings, and numerous other family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research  Center (Seattle) in Chad’s memory.  Thank you.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, June 29, 2018 at Curley’s Hauser Junction, 26433 West Highway 53, Hauser, Idaho 83854.
