Charles was born February 27, 1934 to Adolph and Beulah (Elam) Harmon. He was the 5th of 6 children. He was raised on a farm in Sigel, Illinois. He loved growing up on the farm. He was drafted into the Army on August 7, 1956-he eventually ended up in Washington state. Neighbors in Sigel had relatives in Idaho who told relatives in Spokane about Charles and they invited him for a meal (boy did he like a good meal). It was at this meal that Charles met Margie (Ahlers) and you know the rest-they were married January 24, 1959 (she was a Great cook)! They spent 50 wonderful years together before Margie passed away in 2009. Charles is survived by his children Denise (Ed) Fell, Robert “Butch” (Gina) Harmon, Colleen Harmon and sister Eileen Taylor. Charles has 5 Grandsons. 9 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles worked for Spokane Transit starting as a driver and transitioned to Supervisor. Charles had a passion for the outdoors and animals. He loved raising German Shorthaired Pointers-he enjoyed training his dogs and then watching them work a field. Charles was an avid gardener, hobby beekeeper and enjoyed watching sports. There was always a stack of magazines and newspapers next to his chair-he enjoyed learning. His greatest pleasure was his family and he liked nothing better than to lend a helping hand.
