Clare Marie Osborne

Clare was born August 16, 1924 in Colbert WA to John and Olga Schneider. Clare passed away July 23, 2022 in Spokane WA. Clare is survived by two siblings, Helen Schneider Moberly of Vancouver WA and Robert (Shirley) Schneider of Chesapeak, VA. She is also survived by her two daughters Patti Osborne of Spokane and Cary (Bob) Kraig of Shelton WA as well as daughter in law Debra Osborne of Aberdeen WA. Clare is survived by 12 grandchildren, Chad, Robby, Daniel, Mike Jr, Julie, Suzanne, Krystal, Traci, Ben, Amber, Rachael, and Jessica, as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons Mike Osborne and John Osborne Jr, siblings Frank, Eleanor, Don and Jack, and grandson Rob Kraig.

After graduation from Riverside HS in 1941, Clare attended Holy Names College and worked two World War II jobs. She then worked at Gonzaga University library where she met John who was studying Law. They married September 2, 1946 and celebrated their 60th anniversary before John passed away in 2006. Clare was a lifelong resident of the Spokane area and a member of St Patrick’s Catholic Church for most of her life and volunteered at St Patrick’s Pre-school program.

Clare worked for 30 plus years as an administrative manager at Alumax Irrigation. She retired to run their fishing resort at Newman Lake with John until 1999, when they retired for good to enjoy cooking, gardening and family. Clare was a trendsetter in perfecting the balance of career and family. John and Clare were excellent dancers and enjoyed many evenings cutting the rug at the Eagles. Her numerous grand children will forever be grateful for carefree summers at the lake, fishing, learning to waterski, jumping on the trampoline and eating her homemade ice cream sandwiches.

Sister, Mom, Grama and Friend, Clare will be missed for her gift of ministering to others, in whatever they might need or want. A special thanks to all of the personnel at Royal Park Retirement who mom felt were part of her family.

Arrangement are with Hennessey Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Colbert WA at 11:00 AM with prior viewing and a lunch reception following. Internment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Spokane WA on Thursday, July 28th at10AM.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s School or a favorite charity in her name.
