Cynthia Ruthann Wilson was born to joy-filled parents Dr. Cy R. and Ruth C. Wilson on August 30th 1956 in Ephrata, Washington. Cyndy and her younger brothers were raised on a 40 acre horse ranch between Ephrata and Soap Lake, in an area called Grant Orchards. Ever since she was a child, Cyndy loved animals, as evidenced through her eagerness to assist at her father`s veterinary practice, her many pet cats, blue heeler dogs, and her beloved, head-strong Galiceno horse "Trim".
She attended schools in Ephrata, WA and graduated from Ephrata Senior High School in 1974. Cyndy then headed to the “big city” of Spokane, where she attended Gonzaga University and graduated with degrees in art and art history. After graduating from Gonzaga she began working as a teacher at All Saints Catholic Jr. High School in Spokane, WA. Several years later Cyndy’s love of art, history, and travel led her to complete her Masters degree in Fine Art with a specialization in print making from Rosary College (now Dominican University) in Florence, Italy. Cyndy also spent a summer in KIROS education program in Spain, and enjoyed travel to many countries in the Middle East such as Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Israel. Cyndy loved her travels through Western Europe and the U.K., especially her many stays in Italy and Ireland, most of all.
For the last 20+ years Cyndy had dedicated her love for art and teaching to Spokane Falls Community College. She greatly enjoyed working with her students, teaching various art classes, including art history, print making, and figure drawing. Her art and teaching were her true joys and calling in life.
Cyndy was a woman of great and abiding faith in God, as seen in her devotion to the Roman Catholic Church, which defined so much of who Cyndy truly was in life. Cyndy also enjoyed singing, and for many years was a member of the choir at Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral.
