David Jon Filer, 63, of Spokane, WA passed away September 15th of natural causes at his home. He was born in Spokane, WA on June 8th, 1955 and graduated from Fort Dodge High School in Iowa. He had 1 child and 3 grandchildren. David had a long career in construction and was a well-respected superintendent for Northwestern, Vandervert and TW Clark construction companies. He had a passion for painting, artwork and his “rock collection,” He was a superb storyteller and had an enviable ability to find the good in everyone. Starting each day with positive intent, he made a lasting impact in the life of every single person he came in contact with. He will be deeply missed and treasured by those he left behind. He was survived by his daughter Tracy Jo Beck, sisters Pam Filer and Dee Hooppaw, and brothers Robert and Jay Filer. David also leaves behind 3 grandchildren; Alyssa, Hayden and Lily Beck to cherish his memories. He was preceded in death by his mother Roberta Riley and his father Philip Filer. Funeral services will be held at 10a.m., October 13th, at Hennessy Funeral Home, in Spokane, WA. A reception to celebrate David’s life will take place at The Roxie, in Hillyard, WA following the service and starting at 11:30.
