David Strange

April 5, 1957 ~ December 31, 2021 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Tribute

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved David Brendan Strange, age 64, of Spokane WA on Friday, December 31st, 2021, while surrounded by his loved ones.

David was an extremely smart, energetic and hardworking man.  He brought passion and charisma to every aspect of his life.  There wasn’t anything he couldn’t figure out how to do and he never did anything just a little.

Born April 5th, 1957 in Yakima WA, the middle of five children, to Bruce and Mary Patricia (Pat) Strange.  The family moved to Spokane when David was four years old.  He grew up on the south hill with a tight knit group of friends he always felt connected to.  David attended Our Lady of Fatima, Gonzaga Prep, LC and graduated from Ferris High School.  He studied Business Administration and Management in college.

David met Tammy in 1995.  She was working at a local grocery store and noticed that there was a handsome man coming to her counter daily.  Tammy finally asked him “do you like shopping every day or are you just coming to see me?”  David reached in his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper he had pre-written his phone number on and gave it to her.   From that moment on, his life forever changed and they knew they would always be together.  With Tammy, David inherited two teenage daughters who grew to love him dearly.  In 1998 Tammy fulfilled his biggest dream and they had the son he always wished for.

David worked with his family for a majority of his adult life at a company his parents founded in 1965.  BPS Supply Company is a wholesale distributor.  Over the years he worked in every capacity of the company and has been managing it for the last several years. We always admired his commitment to the business, his pride in their company and his drive to take care of their customers.

He was also an avid outdoorsman.  He counted down the days to hunting season like a kid waiting for Christmas.  David was the happiest out in the woods, enjoying and appreciating nature, shed hunting, hiking, looking for wildlife and had a love for elk. He would work five days a week and spend the weekends out at their river property in Kingston, ID.  For the last three years he has been building a cabin on the property with the intention to retire there and leave a family legacy.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Tammy Strange, son Brendan Strange, daughters Danielle Loman & Stephanie (Brent) Johnson, sister Brenda Strange, sister-in-law Janet Strange, brother-in-law Keith Courtney, grandchildren, who he absolutely adored, Kaden Kanzler, Kyler Kanzler and Ellie Johnson, numerous nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends. We will all miss him more than words can say!
