A Beautiful soul; piercing blue eyes and a smile that lifted everyone blessed to know you. Your love for your children and family knows no earthly bounds. Always selfless, optimistic and kind you loved and lived with your whole heart, never speaking ill of others. Yes; we will always remember the best of you, as you gave nothing less. You were truly the brightest light and best example of a pure, kind, and loving individual. Delena, our world is dimmer without you; yet every memory and thought of you carries a new spark, as even in death you have left behind only love and light to forever brighten our lives.
Sweet Delena lost her battle with Covid-19 and slipped from this world at the tender age of 43 on the morning of August 10th 2021. She was proceeded in death by her father and multiple Grandparents and followed a short 2 days later by her husband Jeff Hainline on August 12th 2021.
Delena Lynn Schurger was born the 7th of 10 children on October 28th 1977 in Yakima, WA. She is the daughter of Jay R. Schurger Sr. (deceased) born, Lorraine, Oregon and Gloria (Jeanie) Finch, born, Missoula, MT.
Delena spent most of her childhood in Hunters, WA where she attended and graduated from Columbia High School with the class of 1996. Delena made many friends for life during these years and was blessed to stay close to them. Soon after graduating high school, she and her spouse, Jeff Hainline, fell in love and were married on December 21st, 1996. Delena and Jeff had 2 children who were their world.
Delena is survived by a son & his fiancée; Thomas Dalen (Lexi) Hainline, 23, of Spokane, WA and a daughter; Carly Jayne Hainline, 18, of Spokane, WA. Dalen and Carly were the pride and joy of their parents, our hearts ache for them as they navigate a future without them.
Delena is also survived by her mother, Gloria (Jeanie) Schurger of Clayton, WA and 9 siblings; Lorene (Gib) Earl of Loon Lake, WA; Jerolene Rodeback of Logan, UT; Jared (Cami) Schurger of Mesa, AZ; Dina (Clint) Kieffer of Davenport, WA; Rodney (Dani) Schurger of Valley, WA; Everett (Sharalee) Schurger of Roosevelt, UT; Jay R. Schurger Jr. of Clayton, WA; Dale (Alicia) Schurger of Clayton, WA; and Darren Schurger of Spokane, WA. She’s the beloved Aunt of many nieces and nephews, all will miss her dearly.
Delena spent the last 7 years working as the Book Keeper for Century 21 Beutler & Associates in Spokane, WA. She loved the people she worked with and enjoyed her professional life. Delena was blessed with many talents, she was a ferocious athlete who enjoyed basketball, volleyball, and softball to name a few. She had a quick wit and the cutest giggle that would make anyone smile. She loved numbers and accounting and was always going the extra mile to help family and friends.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Jeff and Delena at 10:00 AM on Saturday August 21st at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2112 W Francis Avenue, Spokane, WA 99205. Any who wish to attend the Memorial Service are welcome. They will be laid to rest in the Fairmount Memorial Park.
