Dolores Regina McNaghten

November 11, 1926 ~ November 1, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old


Dolores Regina  “Dee” McNaghten passed away peacefully November 1st, 2017 at her home in Elk, WA. She was a week shy of her 91st birthday.  Dee was born in 1926 in Heartwell, Nebraska to Sam and Stella Porterfield. Growing up she worked the family farm with her 6 siblings.  After graduating from high school Dee moved with the family to Burbank, CA.  While on a visit back to her home town she met the love of her life, Sam McNaghten.  They were married 6 months later and lived in blessed matrimony for 70 years.

Sam worked for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad and while with the railroad Sam & Dee made 28 separate moves during their first 28 years of marriage. They settled in the Seattle area residing in Kirkland for 40 years where Dee worked at an area bank and for Bartell Drugs in Kirkland for many years.

Dee was a long-time parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church and was the original member and President of the Kirkland Seahawks Boosters club for many years. She was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed all her 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren immensely.

Dee is survived by three sons and their wives Greg (Carol), Mark (Tricia) and Bryan (Sheila), grandsons Matthew, Patrick, Daniel, Sam, Adam, Benjamin and Sean McNaghten, granddaughters Meghan Archer, Shannon Clark, and Katherine McNaghten and 20 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Bernadette of Burbank, CA.  Dee is preceded in death by brothers Don and George and sisters Evelyn, Ann Estelle, and Mary and her first born son Francis.
