Don Lee Cook of Spokane, WA, passed away peacefully, on September 12, 2018 at the age of 88. Don was born on January 12, 1930, to Ernest & Bessie Cook, of Nine Mile Falls, WA. He grew up on Four Mound Prairie with his four brothers, Lloyd, Fred, Ray, & Gordon Rowland. Don & his mother moved to Spokane, where he graduated from North Central High School in 1948. He worked for nearly 40 years as a Cameraman in the printing business. He started out at C.W. Hill Printing and later worked for The Spokane Valley Herald. Don married Dolores Kambeitz in 1955 and had 3 children. Don remarried Yvonne Havens in 1977 and adopted her son. He enjoyed camping, gardening and going to the casino with Yvonne. He had a love for hot rods & classic cars. He had a great sense of humor and was adored by everyone that met him. Don is survived by his wife Yvonne of Spokane; his daughter Robin (Joe) Schwagerl, of Mesa, AZ; his sons, Tim (Yvette) Cook, of DeSmet, ID, Don (Carol) Cook, of Spokane and John (Jen) Cook, of Issaquah, WA; grandchildren Sommer (Jeremy) Munsen, of Deer Park, WA, Shiloh Oliver, of Charlotte, NC, Brandon (CeCe) Cook, of Plummer, ID, Casey Cook, of Eugene, OR, Jeffrey Middleton, of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Kassie Lotze, of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Joshua Cook, of Spokane, Liam Cook, of Issaquah, WA; great- grandchildren, Colton, Talon, Nikisa, Lillianna & Amare’.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at Hennessey Funeral Home in the Rose Chapel with a reception following.
Don's final resting place will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
