Our beloved mother and grandmother, Donna, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2018. Her passing will leave an empty space in many lives, especially those of her family. Born August 18, 1930 to Helen and Arnold Brandt in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Donna graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1948. After graduation, she moved to Spokane to work as an elevator operator at the Crescent and met the love of her life and husband of 64 years, Bill. Bill’s service in the Army took her to Texas, and Elizabethtown, Kentucky. After which, they returned to Spokane and raised 6 children. She loved spending time making memories with her children and grandchildren, which included many years of running Bloomsday together. Donna also had a soft spot in her heart for all animals, especially cats. She was blessed with her two champions; Dawnie, who was a great source of companionship and home care for the last few years of her life, along-with Norma Jean, who sat at her bedside, rooting her on through physical therapy sessions, and making sure she always got what she needed. Our family cannot thank these women enough for what they did for her. Donna is survived by her twin sister Delores, Dyann, her children; Greg, Guy, Elizabeth, Gary, Jay & Terri, and William. Grandchildren; Nick & Sarah, Leonard, Carla, Lonnie & JC, Genelle, Missie & Dennis, Stephen, Tricia, Sarah and Kellsey, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill, baby daughter Katherine, and parents Helen and Arnold Brandt. A Vigil will be held Friday May 11th at 7:00pm at Hennessy Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s church, 5021 N Nelson St, Saturday May 12th at 11:00 am, with a graveside service to be held at Holy Cross Cemetery at 1:00. A reception will follow at St Thomas More activity center. 505 W St Thomas More Way Memorial Contributions may be made to: Spokane HOPE, 502 E Fifth Ave, Suite A, Spokane WA 99202-1675, in honor of Max, her great grandson.
