Douglas Leroy Howe was born on March 25th, 1952 to Leroy and Bernice Howe. On November 1, 2021, Doug was surrounded by his loved ones as he made his journey to heaven. Doug was an Incredible man that was deeply loved. He leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Bambi; his precious children, Aaron, CaraLee, Jeremy and Dustin; his beloved in-laws, Ken and Carole Frybarger and Dianne McNeal; his sisters Gloria (Mike), Nancy (Deane) and Judy (Larry); two aunts, Nellie and Ruby; four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a bonus daughter, Maritza and two precious children, that were grandchildren in his heart, Maria and Olivia.
Doug attended East Valley High School and proudly served his country in the USAF during the Vietnam War. He spent his career working at Spokane Steel Foundry. After retirement, Doug found the theater. He performed in more than 20 plays and musicals and met so many friends that became family. Doug was a Bright Light. He loved deeply and beyond measure. This world has lost a Beautiful Soul, but I am confident he is breathing easy in Paradise. I Love You Baby - For Always, Forever and No Matter What!
A Celebration of Doug's life will take place at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N Division St in Spokane, on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 6:00pm with a reception following. Doug will be laid to rest with military honors at the Washington State Veteran’s Cemetery in Medical Lake on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 @ 11:15am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug’s name to Horizon Hospice.
