Just wanted you to know how sorry I was to see that Duane passed. He was always so kind and welcoming of my family from the Ridpath to the Spokane Club. A very special man, who made this world a better place. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal' Blessings, Sandra

I am sure going to miss my friend Duane. He epitomized hospitality in every sense of the word. What a blessing for all of us that Duane called Spokane his home. He was the kind of exceptional person that brought out the best in everyone. He invested himself in relationships with others and had many, many friends. He was a rich man because of that and we benefited from his humble servant's heart. Our loss is heanen's gain, for sure.

Duane Costa welcomed everyone with a smile and a hearty welcome.
I always was happy to see him at the Ridpath Hotel when I was on the City Council and served as Mayor. After many years, one day I walked into the Spokane Club and there he was! I was so happy to see him looking great and welcoming as always. He leaves a legacy of friendship and happiness. Prayers to Duane for a life well lived.

I've known Duane for decades and it's very difficult to see this notice of his passing.A friend, fabulous person and a great hotelier, I share his loss with and offer my condolences to his family and legions of friends who will dearly miss him.I met him thru the late Joe Duncaf, former Ridpath Hotel Manager, Duane's friend and mentor who thought the world of Duane. The Ridpath was a sort of proving ground for hospitality excellence. The memories are many and I will cherish them all.Bon Voyage Duane and God's Speed.

Duane is a dear friend. I have so many treasured memories that will be apart of my life forever. He was my neighbor on 16th street. I built a home on 16th across the street. He called it the house at little rock!! We had many meals together, may outings together. He was always there to help me with home projects. Lots of laughter, lots of good times. My heart is sad!! I know he is with his Lord. I think he arrived with wings of gold. He gave so much to those in need. He loved his community. He is very dear to my heart. He's a very special part of my life. Duane thank you for the friendship, thank you for fun times, thank you for great conversation, thank you for great meals, thank you for laughter, thank you for being the best friend and neighbor on 16th. My life was gifted by your friendship. Linda Christensen

Duane was a good friend of my Dad, John Workland, for many, many, many years. While I knew his name, I didn't actually get to meet Duane until 2014 when he visited my Dad as he entered the final years of his battle with Dementia. Duane had recently had hip surgery and wasn't feeling so great himself so I was doubly touched by his determination to visit Dad. We chatted for several hours and I really enjoyed our visit. He had such great stories. I am so very sorry for your loss. There is nothing that can fill the space that losing our Dad's leaves in our hearts. Sincerely, Jo Ann Workland Stanley
