Edith Joan Persello

Persello, (Edith) Joan, age 92, died peacefully on June 5th in Colfax, WA.  Joan was born on Oct. 6th 1925 in Michel, British Columbia to William and Edith Gregory.  Joan grew up in B.C. & England.  She married the love of her life, (Gelvido) Joe in 1949 and moved to Spokane where they planted roots and raised their family.  Joan was a Registered Nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was an active member of St. David’s Episcopal Church, a gracious hostess to friends, and was a true matriarch of her family.  Joan was a devoted & joyful wife, mother & grandmother.  She was strong, loving, encouraging & giving.  In 2014 Joan moved into Assisted Living in Colfax, WA where she happily enjoyed the last years of her life.  Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Persello in 2007, her grandson Kyle Hutchinson, & her brother William Gregory.  Joan is survived by her daughters Lorna Persello, & Janet (Ron) Hutchinson; granddaughters Sheri Buck, & Kayla (Perry) Welch;  5 cherished great-grandchildren, her loving sisters, and many treasured nieces and nephews.  While we grieve, we give thanks that she was ours.
