Tribute

Edward Lamount Davis, 74, passed away 4 May 2020 in Spokane, Washington. He was born in Winnipeg, Canada on the 28th of December 1945. Edward graduated from Aitkin High School 1993 in Minnesota and after serving in the military went to California Polytechnical – San Luis Obispo majoring in Industrial Technology. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and served on the USS Hornet. He was married to Cheryl Rossi Davis on 28 December 1981 in Bridgeport, California. Together they raised 3 girls, 2 boys and 32 foster children and enjoyed 39 years of marriage. Edward worked hard as a Professional Land Surveyor and even owning his own business Davis Land Consulting. He was a member of First Night Spokane, Rotary, Knights of Columbus, Journey to Bethlehem, South Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church and many other committees. He had a passion for all things outdoors, including bike riding, hiking and fishing but also found love and solace in watercolor painting. He made a difference in everyone’s life he met, never wanting anyone to feel left out he welcomed many into the family. Ed was always full of life, and a go-getter. He was spiritual and philosophically open minded. Eds greatest joys were spending time with his grandchildren whether that was in person or virtually, the visits would always make him smile. He will always be loved and remembered for his bear hugs, belly laughs and for laughing at his own jokes before reaching the punchline “cut to the chase”. Ed is survived by Cheryl his wife,  daughters Kelli, Aimee, Amber, their families, sons Elijah and Ty and his youngest brother Harold. Ed also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and many other “grandchildren and family” members. He was preceded in death by his mother Louise and father Edward, and his brothers Johnathon and James. A private memorial service will be held at the Medical Lake Veterans Cemetery.
