Edward Lee Collins

Edward Leroy Collins peacefully passed away on June 29, 2021 in Spokane, Washington. Edward went to be with his mom, dad, and sisters at the age of 71 years. At a young age and at a time of heightened racial division, Edward decided to join the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly serve his country. Edward was immensely honored to display his Vietnam Veteran badge with true humbleness.

Edward is survived by his loving wife Sylvia S. Collins of 42 years of marriage and lovingly remembered by his son, Edward L. Harris; daughters, Tonga Harris, Marguerite Elder, Sonora Collins, Sheilah L. Collins and Somorrow Rockstrom; Son-in-Laws, Wil Elder and Christopher Rockstrom; brother, Willie Collins; 19 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, nieces, and nephews.
“I came to Spokane with one wife, four kids and two suitcases and look at what I have now.”

Services will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home & Crematory, 2203 N Division St. Burial Services will take place at 1:45 p.m. at Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd, Medical Lake, Washington, 99022.
