George Edmund Crichton was born on January 28th 1952, in Washington, D.C, to Robert and Joanna Crichton. He passed away on or in late December of 2018, leaving behind his mother Joanna; brothers Bruce and Don; children Heatherann, Jessica, Michael, and Dustin; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Robert.
George grew up in Washington D.C. and Bethesda, MD, attending Walter Johnson High School from which he graduated in 1971. In September of 1973, he joined the United States Navy, serving for 21 years before receiving an honorable discharge as Radioman Chief Petty Officer in January 1994. He then went on to work as an electronics tech in the private sector before retiring in 2001.
George was passionate about the sea and proud of his service in the Navy. He loved reminiscing about his time on the open road and his father, Robert, as well as working with his hands and studying the newest technology. His team was the Washington Redskins, and he loved listening to the Moody Blues and Judas Priest. But his greatest love and pride were his children and grandchildren.
A military honor graveside service will be held for George on Thursday, February 7th at 1415, at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery at 21702 West Espanola Rd, Medical Lake, WA 99022. All are welcome to attend.
