Gordon " Dale" Hochstedler

Gordon Dale Hochstedler, born on July 9, 1945 in Holly, Colorado moved on to his permanent home in Heaven on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018.  Dale, as he was known by family and friends, grew up in Springdale, Washington and graduated from Mary Walker High School.  Dale was very active in his church, including many mission trips to Mexico.  One of Dale’s passions was ministering faithfully through Prisoners for Christ Ministries at Walla Walla State Penitentiary where he formed personal relationships with many inmates over the years.  Dale owned his own contracting business, Hochstedler Enterprises building many houses around Spokane starting in the 1970’s.  Dale was always there for family and friends to help in any way he could. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Irene West and Herbert Noel Hochstedler, and his brother Herbert Eugene Hochstedler.  He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Virginia Hochstedler; siblings Sharon, David, and Rob; children Nanette, Sheila, Dawn, Aaron, and Jason; stepchildren Curtis and Sheila; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Spokane as well as Angel Senior Care for their compassionate care in Dale’s final weeks. A graveside memorial will be held for Dale at Springdale Cemetery at 1pm on Thursday, September 27th. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of Spokane or the Michael J.
