Gregory Lee Giesa
Born on March 16, 1950 in Spokane Washington, Greg entered into rest on April 16, 2018 in Spokane Washington. Greg graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 1968. He married Sandy Allen in June 1978 and lived in north Spokane where they started a family. Greg is survived by his wife Sandy Giesa, mother Bette Henriksen, son Hans Giesa ( previous marriage ) of Spokane, daughter Shelly (Matt) Parker of Spokane, son Chad Giesa of Spokane and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his three sisters- Nancy (Ted) Wideman-Smet, Debbie (Gene) Ozust, Melinda (Lonnie) Snyder, and two brothers-Gary (Linette) Giesa, and Todd (Kris) Giesa and numerous nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his father Robert Giesa, stepmother Virginia Giesa and his stepfather Richard Henriksen. Greg served 23 years in the US Navy Reserves. He graduated from SCC with AAS degree in cardiovascular and then was employed at Sacred Heart Medical Center. Greg went back to Whitworth College to finish out his bachelor of health and science degree. He retired 43 years later from Sacred Heart. After he retired, he started doing volunteer work for the police department. Greg loved countless fishing/hunting/camping trips, traveling, roasting a hotdog over the fire at the lake, eating out with friends and shopping. The family would like to thank Hospice of Spokane for the kindness and care they provided to Greg while he was surrounded by loved ones as he succumbed to the effects of stomach cancer.
