Harold Byron Edgett, Jr was born in Spokane WA on September 3rd, 1945 to Harold B. and Constance M. Edgett and passed away on July 2nd, 2021. Byron attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School and graduated from Rogers High School in 1963. Following high school, Byron attended Kinman Business College before enlisting in the US Marine Corp in 1965. In February 1969, Byron married Judy Fackenthall of Colville WA.
Byron was hired by Kaiser Mead Credit Union which launched his credit union career. He was the manager of Coulee Dam Federal Credit Union from 1970-1976 when he became the President/CEO of Spokane Federal Credit Union. Byron retired from SFCU in 2008 and began his life of leisure.
Byron was a man of many talents. You could find him restoring cars (1963 Chevy Impala’s were his favorite), repairing roofs and other general home repairs, wood working, and more. Byron did not like to sit still. When not working on a project, he enjoyed elk hunting or visiting with friends and family.
Byron was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Connie and his brother Garry. Byron is survived by Judy, his wife of 52 years, daughters & sons-in-law Nanette & Chris Janssen of Spokane WA and Alison & Matt Simmenauer of New Gisborne Australia; his grandchildren Charlie and Lauren Simmenauer and step grandsons Cory and Kyle Janssen. He is also survived by his brothers Fred, Mike & wife Roberta, and Paul & wife Karen. A memorial service will be held at a future date. Please check back for updated information.
