Helen Marie Marksbury died on September 11th, 2022, at the age of 91. She was born on October 13th, 1930, in Republic, WA, to Alfred and Alma (Lindahl) Gendron, the fifth of their seven children. Through her father, she was a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. She married Robert A Marksbury on November 2nd, 1948, and they were together for 52 years until his death in 2001. They raised three children in the home where Helen resided for 70 years and in the cabin they built on Kilroy Bay, Lake Pend Oreille. She was an expert with a crochet hook and embroidery needle, an active bowler, kept a beautiful yard and in later years enjoyed going to yard sales. She is survived by her son Rick (Carol) Marksbury, daughter Linda (Robert) Gardner, son Don Marksbury, brother Willy (Marlene) Gendron, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings Ernestine, Alfred Lee, Betty, Ruby and George. Helen was loved by many and will be greatly missed. A private gathering celebrating her life will be held at a later date. Remembrances can be offered to Ronald McDonald House or a charity of your choice.
