Tribute

Jaimee Shae Marie Albrecht was born on May 7, 1993 and passed away in the early hours of March 1, 2021.  Jaimee was a daughter, friend, cousin, “Crazy Auntie” and so many other things to many others.  The minute that she was born she was a fighter and continued to have a fighting spirit throughout her life as she battled cardio myopathy.  As much as this disease limited what she was able to do in life, it never stopped her from living life to its fullest.

Jaimee never felt sorry for herself and never used her condition as an excuse or to try to get sympathy from others.  Because of her heart condition there were limits on what she could do, such as participating in physical activities when she was in school.  As a result of this she never really learned how to run like everyone else and it showed.  If anyone saw Jaimee run they would wonder how it was possible for anyone to run with arms and legs flying all over the place like she did.

Jaimee was always going to need to have a heart transplant due to her condition.  Five years ago she was blessed with a new heart and a new lease on life.  The sacrifice that was made for Jaimee to have a new heart weighed heavily on her.  She is such a gentle empathetic soul and always struggled with the fact that someone else had to make the sacrifice of life in order for her to keep living.  Jaimee was tough and endured so much in her recovery from the transplant.  The toughest part was not being able to be around friends and family.

Jaimee loved her family, friends, cats and boyfriend Brad.  People that met Jaimee instantly fell in love with her and never forgot her infectious smile, laugh and addictive personality.  She loved the outdoors, fishing, being at a lake, and having a good time.  A smile came easy to her and a hug was almost an automatic reaction when she was around others.  Everyone will always remember her signature sign-off on the phone, “Love you, bye” and the fact that she never left you without saying, “Love you”.  Jaimee was filled with love and was always selfless in sharing it.  She brought joy, happiness, smiles and laughter to all of our lives.  We are so happy that our little bird has found the freedom to fly to heaven and bring joy to the many other family members that await her there.
