Jerome "Jerry" Peter Hayes, 85, of Spokane, died September 5th 2017.
He was born in Clarks NE on January 3, 1932 to Daniel and Catherine Hayes, where grew up on the family farm and graduated from Clarks High School.
He then went on to attend vocational schools in Omaha NE, Santa Ana, CA and Spokane WA.
He made the Northwest his home to be close to his mother, sister and her family. He lived and worked as a maintenance and electrical supervisor at both Washington State University in Pullman WA and Central Washington University in Ellensburg WA, where he built his home. Jerry retired to Spokane, WA and lived a quiet life; attending and volunteering at Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral. He often attended the Congress of the Rosary in Washington D.C. and the Novena of Grace at St. Aloyisus. With his faith he overcame many adversities to become the successful man that he was.
Jerry is survived by his two siblings: MaryAnn Condon of Spokane WA and his twin brother Gene Hayes (Phyllis) of Wheatland WY, Ardie Hayes of Osceola NE (sister-in-law), Vinson Bittinger of Clarks NE (brother-in-law) and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, brother Don Hayes, sister Margaret Bittinger, nephew Mike Bittinger.
Jerry was a quiet man, but loved to laugh and enjoyed being with his family, and especially enjoyed the shenanigans of his brother, Gene.
