Jesse Lee Washburn, 72, passed away in Spokane, WA on March 12, 2021. Jesse Lee was born on January 1, 1949 to Jess Washburn and Vera Meacham in Newport, Washington. Although Jesse was born on New Year’s, he was not the New Year’s baby, missing that title by minutes. Jesse grew up in Newport, and then in his late teens he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in San Antonio, TX. He later returned to his home town of Newport before traveling to various areas working in the agriculture and timber industries. He retired in southern Idaho and lived there until 2019 when he came back up to Newport area, settling in Spokane where he could help with the care of one of his siblings.
His mother Vera Daniels, his step-dad, Leon Daniels, and his sister, Donna Hansen, preceded Jesse in death. He is survived by his partner, Christina Parton, his brothers, Joe Washburn, Roger (Nancy) Washburn and sisters, Debbie Henderson and Willie Hiebert, nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews. There will be no services held at this time, however a memorial service will be held at a later date.
