Joan Wicklund

Joan Elaine Wicklund (Jo) was born August 25,1929 in Groveland Township outside of Flint, Michigan. Jo died peacefully at home in her sleep on July 26, 2022.  

During her life adventure she had many jobs such as the best mom, bartender, & home care worker. She also graduated with her High school GED at 59 and got her AA at 63. She told wild stories about hitchhiking across the country with her mom from Michigan to Washington to see her brothers in the 40’s, growing up in the depression, watching the world of technology evolve from cars to computers, color TV’s, space ship and men on the moon. 

Jo will be missed greatly; especially her smile that would light up the room. She is survived by her children, Tim Albright (Bernice), Anchorage, Alaska; Tana Hathaway (Bill), Peyton, Colorado; Tom Albright (Connie), Sterling Alaska; Denise Schilling (Chris), Spokane, Washington; Michele Clay, Cheney, Washington. She had 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. 

She loved all kind of flowers, reading, western music, her family and visiting with anyone that wanted to stop by for a minute. 

Services are planned for Tuesday, August 2nd at 10 am at Hennessey’s Funeral home on Division with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery at 11:30. Instead of flowers any donation to Horizon Hospice in her name would be appreciated.
