John Carroll Smith passed away suddenly on November 6, 2017, at the age of 69.  Born in Spokane Washington on September 2, 1948, he lived a majority of his life here and is where he met his soul mate, Tina.  John served our country during the Vietnam War.  He ran his own graphic design company for many years before joining Spokane Falls Community College as a Graphic Design Instructor, retiring in 2014 after 30 years.  John had a great affection for all he worked with and the countless students of whose lives he touched. He leaves behind his loving wife Tina, his son, Alex, brother, Mike (Carolee), sister, Marianne Bafaro, and his aunt, Shirly Kuhn. John is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Beverly Smith and his brothers, Tim and Rick.  John was well loved and will be missed by so many family and friends.
