Kassie Dewey passed on Sunday, April 11th, 2021 in Spokane Washington. Kassie was a Spokane native, born January 30th, 1986. She leaves behind three beautiful, incredibly strong children, Leda Garcia (14), Levi Garcia (11), Lilly Schmidt (5), mother, Heidi Dewey, father, Bill Dewey, and brother, William Dewey, and all those who loved and cherished her. Kassie was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend who will be so dearly missed. Kassie was a bright light in all lives she touched and had the liveliest spirit. Kassie always enjoyed jamming out with friends and family to loud, fun music and crafting with her friends and kids. Kassie was a North Central High School graduate of the class of 2004, and currently had worked as a mental health technician at Eastern State Hospital for almost two decades following. If you wish to donate, there are two GoFundMe’s available under “Schmidt & Garcia Kids Recovery Fund”, and “Derek and Garcia Fam with their Grief”. There is also a Washington Trust Bank account that checks, and deposits can be made to. Checks can be made to William Dewey, who will be overseeing all proceeds to the account. All donations will be going to Kassie’s three children for their recovery and future needs. The family of Kassie is incredibly grateful for all the love the community has shown. Kassie left us all with this message, “And nothing hurts anymore, I feel kinda free.”
